Common questions

Answered plainly.

Mero Share is the official online portal operated by CDSC (CDS and Clearing Ltd.), the central securities depository of Nepal. It is the only official channel for applying to IPOs and FPOs via C-ASBA, viewing your share holdings, and generating EDIS (Electronic Delivery Instruction Slips) to authorise share sales.

You need three pieces of information from your DP: your BOID (16-digit Beneficiary Owner ID), your username, and the temporary password. Go to meroshare.cdsc.com.np, select your DP from the dropdown, enter your username and temporary password, then change the password on first login.

EDIS stands for Electronic Delivery Instruction Slip. When you want to sell shares, your broker's TMS (Trading Management System) submits a sale order on your behalf, but CDSC also requires your authorisation to transfer the shares out of your DEMAT. You provide this authorisation in Mero Share under My EDIS, either by approving individual requests or by setting up a standing instruction for a specific broker.

ASBA (Application Supported by Blocked Amount) is the IPO payment method where your bank blocks the application amount in your account rather than debiting it upfront. You get the amount back if you are not allotted shares. C-ASBA is the centralised version linked to your Mero Share account, letting you apply through any affiliated bank.

Yes. Under My Holdings in Mero Share you can see the securities held in your DEMAT, the quantity, and your weighted average cost price (WACC). The data comes directly from CDSC records, so it is always accurate. Punji can import the same holding data automatically if you link your Mero Share account, giving you live P&L, CGT estimates and a richer portfolio view.
