The CGT countdown, worked
Rs 654.87 for waiting.
200 shares bought at Rs 480.00, now worth Rs 615.00. Sell at day 365 and the gain is taxed at the short-term rate. Sell one day later and it is long-term. Nothing about the trade changes except the date, and Rs 654.87 stays with you.
Punji runs this for every profitable holding you own and reminds you before the date, so the saving is not one you find out about afterwards. Run any trade yourself in the calculators.

What the number means
Knowing your portfolio value is step one. Knowing whether you are ahead of the market, whether one sector is taking over, and when each holding turns long-term for tax: that is what an investor actually needs.
What it answers
Four questions your portfolio should answer every day.
Value, gain, sector weight, and tax status. The four numbers that turn a list of holdings into a decision.
What is my portfolio worth right now?
Total value, day change in rupees and percentage, and invested versus returns, all from the live NEPSE feed. No spreadsheet, no manual calculation.
Am I beating the NEPSE index?
Portfolio Insights compares your return against NEPSE over the period you pick. You see your number next to the index number: a fair test of whether your choices are adding value or trailing the market.
Is any single sector taking over?
Concentration warnings flag when one sector (banking, hydro, finance) becomes a disproportionate share of your holdings. The flag is plain text, not a wall of numbers, so you can decide whether to act.
When does each holding turn long-term for tax?
The CGT countdown shows the exact date each profitable holding qualifies for the lower long-term rate, with a rupee estimate of the saving. A reminder before the date means you will not miss it.
How it works
Add once, check anytime.
Enter your holdings, set your average cost, and let Punji track gains, sector drift, and tax timing from there.
Add your holdings
Enter stocks manually with symbol, quantity and cost, or connect MeroShare and let the import fill everything in. Family accounts can be added the same way.
See your live value
Your portfolio updates through market hours. The summary shows total value, day change and invested versus returns. Tap any holding for the full breakdown.
Read the insights
Scroll to Portfolio Insights: benchmark comparison, sector concentration check, and CGT countdown per holding. Each insight is one or two lines of plain text, no jargon.
Add holdings manually by entering the stock symbol, quantity and cost price, or import them directly from your MeroShare account. Once added, the app shows the live value of each holding, your day change, total invested and total return, updated through market hours.
Yes. Connect your MeroShare account once and Punji pulls in your real holdings. You can link multiple accounts, including accounts for your spouse, children or parents, and switch between them from a single screen. The import reads what MeroShare knows, so your quantities and cost basis come straight from the source.
Yes. Portfolio Insights compares your return against the NEPSE index over the same period you choose: one month, three months, one year, or since you started. You see your percentage gain next to the index gain so the comparison is honest. If your portfolio is up 8% and NEPSE is up 5% over the same window, you can see that clearly.
Capital gains tax in Nepal charges a higher rate on shares you sell in under a year (short-term) and a lower rate if you have held for a year or more (long-term). The CGT countdown shows, for each profitable holding, exactly how many days remain until it qualifies for the lower long-term rate, and roughly how many rupees you would save by waiting. A reminder fires before that date so you do not miss it by accident.
Yes. Add MeroShare accounts for any family member and switch between them using the You switcher at the top of the portfolio screen. Each account shows its own holdings and return. You do not need to log in and out each time.
Yes. Your holdings, quantities and values are never shared with ad networks. The app requires your device biometrics, fingerprint or Face ID, before it opens the MeroShare section. Sensitive screens cannot be screenshotted on Android. Only you can see your numbers.
Free on iOS and Android. MeroShare import, family accounts, CGT countdown included.
