Common questions

Answered plainly.

NEPSE trades Monday to Friday. Pre-open runs 10:30 to 11:00 AM NPT and continuous trading runs 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM NPT. The exchange is closed on Saturday and Sunday and on Nepali public holidays.

Continuous trading (when real-time order matching happens) opens at 11:00 AM NPT and closes at 3:00 PM NPT, Monday through Friday.

No. As of April 2026, NEPSE moved to a Monday to Friday trading week. Saturday and Sunday are now the weekend. (Historically NEPSE traded Sunday to Thursday; the schedule changed in April 2026.)

Yes, inside the after-market window. NEPSE turned on After Market Orders (AMO) in the TMS on 13 August 2026, and the TMS lists it as a session in its own right: AFTERMARKET, 17:00:00 to 10:00:00. An order entered there queues and is sent for execution when the next session opens. It is order entry, not trading, so no price moves and nothing matches until the market is open.

Pre-Open runs 10:30 to 11:00 NPT. Members can place, modify and cancel orders, but no orders actually execute. At 11:00 NPT the system runs a single call auction to determine the opening price for each security, and then continuous trading begins.

Yes. NEPSE shifted to a Monday to Friday trading week effective April 2026. The schedule was previously Sunday to Thursday (and briefly Sunday to Friday during the transition). Any guide that still says "Sunday to Thursday" is out of date.
